Ericksonian Hypnotherapy

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is just one way to come to a deeply centered place that some call a ‘trance’. Hypnosis is a method to assist a person to arrive in trance. This centered place is a natural learning state and a natural tool for healing, returning to wholeness and wellness.

What is trance?

Trance is a state of consciousness that is similar to prayer, meditation or the relaxed focus that many runners experience as ‘the zone’ and others experience in life when they are’ in flow’. While a hypnotherapist can help one arrive in trance, the trance state itself arises from within oneself and so is always accessible.

What is Ericksonian Hypnotherapy?

Ericksonian hypnotherapy is one method of using hypnosis for therapeutic growth. Milton H Erickson knew in a deep and sure way that everyone has wisdom inside them and that the answers they sought were mostly already within them. Ericksonian hypnotherapy is a tool to help (re)connect to one’s center and feel ‘in flow’. In this trance state, one can focus on healing old wounds, accessing resources and learning new skills.
